Park-owned water and wastewater treatment systems, dual-fed power with on-site generation and a 21st century data and communications infrastructure—MidAmerica’s across-the-board utility advantages, which can result in 20% to 70% utility savings, make it a particularly attractive choice for a wide range industrial sectors from plastics and paper to metal fabrication.  Advantage MidAmerica!

High-capacity, low cost water: Thanks to MidAmerica’s park-owned water and waste water system, industry enjoys some of the lowest rates in the nation, with a combined water tank storage capacity of 19.5 million gallons and a water treatment capacity of 50 million gallons per day with a daily peaking capacity of 62 million gallons.  More

Dual-fed power, on-site generation: The Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA), a public power company and cost-of-service provider, supplies electricity to the park at wholesale rates, providing on-site service through transmission headquarters, two transmission substations and five distribution substations. AECI/KAMO Power supplies power to SWPP grid through two combined cycle natural gas-fired plants, also located on-site.  More

Natural Gas: A division of the Tulsa-based ONEOK (NY:OKE), one of the largest natural gas distributors in the U.S., Oklahoma Natural Gas serves the park with a 16-inch high-pressure line. A subsidiary of OGE, Enogex provides a 16-inch high-pressure line in a looped system to insure reliable and efficient delivery. A competitive commodities market allows both companies to provide cost-effective service to MidAmerica industry.

Data: From video conferencing to high-speed data transmission, MidAmerica has the cutting-edge capabilities for today’s communications. Two telecom providers serve the park (AT&T serves the north part of the park and FairPoint Communications serves the south side of the park). A park-wide fiber build-out by RECtec Technology and Communications, installed in collaboration with K-PowerNet, includes four SONET protected fiber optic rings and two points-of-presence.
